We have found a new home for our nursery school! To our great delight, the Strathcona Community League has offered us a home.
For the school year 2023-24 we will operate out of the lounge space located on the upper floor, which will undergo minor renovations throughout the spring and summer 2023. (Take a virtual tour of the current lounge space.)
Renovations will take place on the main floor of the building over the next one to two years. After renovations are complete, we will relocate to a more permanent home in this newly renovated main floor space. In planning our move, the Community League has been incredibly accommodating to our needs and requirements and our partnership with them is very strong.
General registration for new families opens March 13, 2023
We are hosting an open house on Thursday, April 6 from 5pm - 7pm, and we welcome everyone to come check out our new, temporary home.
We are thrilled at the upcoming partnership with the Community League and we look forward to seeing you at the open house. Thank you to those continuing your journey with us and to those who are moving on to new adventures. It is an honour to serve you and your growing families.
Consider joining the Board!
Big changes are ahead and they will require us as a community to come together so our nursery school will continue to have strong roots. As you register for the next school year, we strongly encourage you to take on a board position. Nearly our entire current board will be moving on with their children from nursery school to kindergarten, and those positions need to be filled.
These next years are critical as we transition into a new space. A board is not only a mandatory part of the nursery school structure, it is a wonderful way to get involved and give back to the community. Keep in mind when deciding on your volunteer role for next year that board members are not required to be duty parents.
Here is more information on the board positions.
We'll be updating this section as we have more information about the process ahead.
YES! Our new location means that we can now offer four weeks of morning summer camps this year! These are themed weeks for kids aged 3 to 5. Stay tuned for more info and registration info.
The Edmonton Public School Board anticipates community growth and demand for instruction space at King Edward School. In January 2021 our classroom was halved to accommodate another classroom for KEE students; now the school requires the rest of our space.
General registration opens on March 14. Registration for current families and alumni opens on March 3.
All our current Board Members will finish their terms at the end of this school year. If you have been thinking about joining the board, please reach out to one of us! We're hoping to have next year's Board voted into their positions in early Spring to make this challenging transition as smooth as possible.
